Mr.Horst Reiser Oct 24,1999 History's handful Zurich,Switzerland 011411274 8483 Dear Horst The new painting will be 150 feet long in 6 peices 8feetx25 feet each. The reverse side will be more happy pleasent scenes like creation. Actually the painting will be 300 feet long if you count both sides. I am working on it 16 hours per day, this is my normal routine. It is exciting to see it developing. The main strust of the book of Revelation is focused and more limited to the book compared the prophecy in general. It is like a close up of each of the original 50 foot sections with the main scenes. I wonder if you received the 13 digital dish via express mail. I think now that they are all in color and that the color in the printer here was not turned on for the first few pictures. I sent you a color key of all 48 scenes on one page to show the order. After learning that the painting is to hang above eye level,I believe more than before that it should be the new version. At the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore they hung it as a cathedral ceiling like the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. They supplied stretchers and binoculars to view it. Many complained that they could not see it well other than pretty colors in the ceiling. It is a fact that people donot look up unless something stops them and points them up. With all the little writing of scripture on the original painting,it could not be read. The new painting will have larger characters and will impact a passing audience better. If one is to learn from the painting,it would be the simple new version. people spend days studying it when they can be near it. I am more experienced now in painting it. I need to ship it in advance because the airline will not take oversize over 66 inches long. Delta air freight quoted $500.00 if I can roll it all on one roll at 200 pounds and no wood crate. This is 3 day service to Zurich only and about $300.00 more to Genevia because they must change to Swissair. I could make slides to show the 300 foot one on automatic screen. I see little difference in the description of either as for your printing. Both cover the book of Revelation. One example is the 4 horsemen in chapter 6 are much larger on the new version and their purpose much more visually evident. I am 100 percent sure I can finish it by December 15th or sooner. This new painting will I believe serve your event better and also be more likely to attract museums later. I am heart and soul convinced that the new one is better for you. I will try to E-mail photos within a week on some of the more finished scenes. Sincerely William Thomas Thompson Mr.Horst Reiser October 18,1999 Campus Crusade for Christ 206 Joseph Street Zurich,Switzerland 8005 Dear Brother I have mailed via express the floppy disk and other info to tbe above address. 13 disk in foil to protect from magnets or xray. I may have included 2 odd disc that is not apart of painting I am sorry that my registration form is misplaced but I hope to find it by Monday here. Sorry for the trouble. It has occurred to me that I should ask you if you will consider an advanced version of Revelation Revealed II I am painting for the show next fall at the University of Memphis and world tour. They have ask me now for smaller individual scenes to travel. This painting is 8 feet tall and 100 feet long in 4 25 foot sect-ions,it flows more for visual interpretation and will be easy to install with eyelets every 2 feet apart. It is possible that I could finish it by December 25 and fly it over as extra luggage. On 12 oz canvas weighting about 100lbs,shipping on 1 or 2 rolls. I have been unable to get any break from the air freight rate of about $2,000.00. I may need to go to St.Louis to make sure it is packed right and shipped on time. The City Museum has repeatedly ask me to leave it up until next year. Their response is great to the painting and it was put on Television last week. It could be that other museums would need a shorter version. The impact of a taller painting may be good. All this is to suggest an option and not to say it must be this way. I do believe that if it could all be in one direction,it would be better seen. Or if it were facing in 2 rows of 50 feet each where it all could be seen while standing in one place. The favorite scenes would be in more highlight while the entire book would be simplified. From 48 scenes on the main painting, some consolidated, the scenes shown on the new painting will be from Christ appearing to the Apostle John with the 7 candle sticks and 7 stars in His hand to a larger tree of life at the end,28 scenes highly emphasized. The open flow of the painting will attract a universal audience, there will be nothing lost in describing the book of Revelation. I now feel I should recommend this after thinking about it while writing to you. Each will have its place in time. At first there was mentioned putting it around the stage but now it is to be in a place like display. I really think this will do a better job. Nothing would really need to be changed. Sincerely William Thomas Thompson
